2012 saw steep drop in lead thefts from Cornwall churches
The last 12 months have seen a dramatic drop in the number of lead thefts from Cornwall's churches.
While the number of thefts reported in 2011 was 14, the total for 2012 was only three.

David Watson from the Diocese of Truro said to BBC Cornwall that, according to data from the diocese's insurance company, the three thefts had caused damage for £5,459. It equals around eight per cent of the estimated £70,000 caused by the 14 thefts in 2011.
However, David Watson said that the overall cost of the 2012 thefts could double when all factors were taken into account.
