24 hour weather warning for Cornwall
The Met Office and the Environment Agency have issued a weather warning for heavy rainfall in Cornwall tomorrow.
They have said that the county can expect outbreaks of heavy, thundery, rain, with the potential for torrential downpours in certain small localised areas over the next 24 hours.
Cornwall Council is advising people living in flood risk areas to take precautions such as avoiding flood water when driving and regularly checking on vulnerable neighbours.
Residents of homes which are prone to flooding are also being asked to check that they have a sufficient supply of sandbags, as neither the Council nor the Environment Agency has a statutory duty to provide them.
