29 Liskeard students travel to Ugandan orphanage
LISKEARD School and Community College students visited Africa to perform charity work in an orphanage.
The 29 Year 10 students also helped out in a Ugandan primary school and the Suubi Clinic.

Under the guidance of staff Nicky Hubartt, Corinne Holroyd, and Roger and Alex Quaintance, the students played with the orphans, helped develop their basic skills and fed them.
At the school, the students organised and officiated football and netball training sessions and games.

They took Ugandan pupils out in small groups for word games and activities, explaining a little about English culture.
A Uganda v England football match brought their time at the school to a close with the African side wearing a strip donated by Gilberts Outfitters. At the Suubi Clinic, the Liskeard team painted the maternity room and outside the centre and helped build the medicine storeroom from scratch.
A spokesman said: "The students gained a great deal from their work experience on community projects. The visit ended with a trip to Queen Elizabeth Game Park and a safari. The whole adventure was thoroughly enjoyed by both students and teachers and the experience and memories gained were unforgettable."
