Over 50's Mount Hawke course hailed an outstanding success
A six week course for people over the age of 50 in Mount Hawke has been hailed an outstanding success.
The Veterans Inspiring People course, which is led by ex-service men and women, aims to help people over 50 who live in isolated communities to learn new skills.
Residents from Mount Hawke village have been meeting since the beginning of August for three hours each week to socialise with peers, take part in activities and receive lectures.
Topics addressed by the group included first-aid, personal safety, fire safety and teamwork amongst many others.

Tim Cocks, Director or Active Plus, said: "We use the skills, experience and expertise of injured military veterans to deliver unique programmes that build confidence, motivation and self-belief, unlocking the potential of participants, all of whom are from vulnerable or potentially vulnerable groups.
"All of our ex-military veterans are fantastic role models who share not only their skills and expertise with course participants, but also their own personal journeys."
There have been 15 over 50's courses held in Cornwall so far this year, with several planned for the future.
