Members of Grampound with Creed’s carnival committee dished out over £600 to The Merlin Multiple Sclerosis Centre and Conrwall Freewheelers Blood Bikes Service.
The carnival committee turned up at Grampound’s local produce market on Saturday September 28 to hand out the charity cash.
Merlin Multiple Sclerosis Centre manager, Loraine Long, said: “Merlin MS Centre was delighted to have been chosen as one of the charities to benefit from the Grampound Village Carnival.”

Paul Thomas from Cornwall Freewheelers Blood Bikes service added: “We are a new charity that relies upon volunteer riders to provide an out-of-hours supplement to the NHS courier service, making sure that blood samples, micro-biology samples & frozen breast-milk get to where they need to be, often within the hour.”
Meanwhile all proceeds from the refreshments sold at the produce market this month have been donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. Carnival committee vice chair Sylvia McKay said: “This was a very successful coffee morning and raised £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support. A big thank you to everyone in the village who donated cakes, savouries etc. for sale to make this possible."
