A30 accident victim 'serious'

A WOMAN remained in a serious condition in hospital following an accident on the A30 at Redruth.

The pedestrian was in collision with a lorry on the westbound carriageway, near the Avers overbridge at midday on Friday.

Emergency services closed the road from Chiverton Cross and put diversions in place. The injured woman, in her thirties, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

The road reopened five and a half hours later.
