Addict intended to supply others
ARRESTED twice within eight days in possession of illegal drugs, 35-year-old Martin Palmer was jailed for a total of four and a half years at Truro Crown Court.
Recorder Andrew Langdon, QC, told Palmer: "I accept your primary motivation was to feed your own very significant addiction – but for that the sentence would have been much higher."

Philip Lee, for the prosecution, said that police officers executed a search warrant at Palmer's home in New Street, Newlyn, in September last year and seized 30 grams of heroin, 500 grams of cannabis and 164 diazepam tablets.
Eight days later he was found in possession of more drugs.

The total was valued at between £2,500 and £4,500, the heroin alone being valued at between £900 and £3,000.
Palmer was convicted, following a trial by a jury, of possession of the drugs with intent to supply others.
Robin Smith, for the defence, said that Palmer was prepared for a prison sentence and was determined to take advantage of all the help available to him while in custody.
"He has been using drugs far too heavily and for far too long, having been introduced to cannabis by his mother when he was 14," he declared.
Recorder Langdon ordered the confiscation of £968 cash seized by the police when they raided Palmer's home.
