Aldi launches apprenticeship scheme at stores in Camborne and Truro
THE national discount chain, Aldi, has launched a new apprenticeship scheme that will see it take on trainees at its stores across Cornwall.
The firm is appointing two apprentices at each of its 28 stores, in the South and South West, including Truro, Newquay, Camborne and St Austell, with further vacancies expected later in 2013.
The scheme is being run in conjunction with City of Bristol College Retail Skills Academy, which is helping Aldi's application process and identifying suitable candidates.
Details on how to apply can be found at http://www.aldirecruitment.co.uk and applications are open until January 18 next year, with candidates expected to start during March.

Aldi launched its National Apprentice Scheme in February 2012, creating more than 200 jobs across the UK, to attract young people to a career in retail and as a direct response to the soaring cost of university tuition fees, allied to rising youth unemployment levels.
Apprentices are trained in all aspects of retail management within three years.
The programme offers store assistant training in year one and store management training in years two and three with a salary of £5 per hour rising to £7.15 per hour and working towards a title of deputy manager upon completion.
Leila MacGarrow, the project lead for the Aldi Apprentice Scheme said: "Successful candidates will be joining one of the most dynamic and fast-growing retailers in the UK, with a proven track record in developing its staff."Our partnership with City of Bristol College Retail Skills Academy is critical for selecting suitable candidates and our apprentices are given real responsibility from day one, with the opportunity to learn about the business from a grassroots level."
