Angel stole meat from Co-op store
CCTV showed a man taking a joint of gammon from a friend he was with in the Co-op store at Penzance and hiding it before leaving without paying.
Worth £5, it was later found with him with a 55p tin of sardines, which he admitted stealing as well.
Peter Angel, 65, of Lower Carvolth, Praze, admitted to stealing the food on November 13 and to failing to comply with a requirement not to drink on Causewayhead, Penzance.
Penny Wilson, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said he had been seen drinking cider in a designated no-alcohol area after being warned not to do so by a police officer. He had a large number of previous convictions.
