Anthony comes to the rescue
FOLLOWING a week of uncertainty The Valley Restaurant at the Rose in Vale, Mithian, opened on Friday, February 1, to a standing ovation.
Head chef Anthony Theobald stepped in at the last minute, following Kevin Viner's resignation and produced a new menu that certainly proved a hit with the diners.
Speaking to the guests at the end of the meal Anthony confidently quipped: "I would like to thank Kevin Viner for giving me this opportunity."
Anthony and his team prepared a seven-course taster menu kicking off with a brave yet perfectly executed cauliflower velouté with a curry oil.

Rose in Vale owner James Evans said: "We are all incredibly proud of Anthony and his team for pulling this off."
Anthony came to the Rose in Vale following a position at the prestigious St Moritz Hotel near Polzeath.

“Well Done to Anthony and his team. May I be one of the first to congratulate you on what appears to be a tremendous first evening in your new position as head chef. You are better than Mr Kevin Viner and I hope that the local press will continue to support you and bring your good works to the attention of the general public, and may the newspapers let the history of Mr Kevin Viner now rest in peace. Hip hip hooray, a new chef of born!”
