Anti-hunting documentary in Penzance
THE documentary Minority Pastime – A Letter To David Cameron is screened at Richmond Methodist Church Hall, Tolver Place, Penzance, on Tuesday at 7.30pm.
The film is a ground-breaking feature documentary which aims to "expose the hidden reality of hunting, at a time when the ban against hunting with dogs is under threat".
"When Slad Valley resident Nisa Ward witnessed a deer being torn apart by out-of-control hunting hounds her life changed forever. As a child lost in the woods of a grim fairy tale she unearths a shocking world of cruelty, violence and fear taking place in the English countryside.
"This film investigates the chaos and horror that is inflicted on ordinary people who are invaded by hunts and makes it quite clear what really happens to an animal hunted by a pack of dogs.
"It follows her journey of discovery as she tries to understand why the right to hunt and kill animals for sport is so important to a small, but very powerful, group of English people and what the terrible cost of a return to legal hunting would be."
