Appeal dismissed for man who blinded Hayle woman
A MAN who blinded his girlfriend in an horrific attack at her home has had his appeal against sentence dismissed by the Court of Appeal in London.
Shane Jenkin was given an indefinite life sentence with a minimum term of six years in May this year after he admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent on Tina Nash.

During a prolonged attack at her home in Hayle in April 2011, Jenkin had strangled the mother-of-two unconscious in her bed, gouged out her eyes and left her with a fractured jaw and broken nose.
At the Court of Appeal in London today, Jenkin, 33, from Penzance, had appealed against his sentence but his case was thrown out by Lord Chief Justice Mr Justice Mitting and Mr Justice Griffin.

I think that Shane Jenkin is a nasty cowardly piece of work who has shown no remorse for his callousness. I am disgusted how somebody like this has not only subjected Tina Nash to beatings but thinks it's acceptable to gouge somebody's eyes out and then blame the victim for his actions. He is nothing but Scum, and he has been in trouble with the Police before breaking the Law frequently. Shane Jenkin does not deserve any respect. He has only been sent to a Psychiatric Ward for 5 years. The punishment in this case has been lenient. Tina Nash has to suffer this pain of not being able to see anybody or anything ever again in her life because of one abusive and aggressive individual. It really is unfair it has come to this. Shane Jenkin kept Tina Nash locked up 12 hours after the eye-gouging attack without phoning the Ambulance for medical help. He is a thug who probably wanted to kill his girlfriend, he punched her many times before, and tried to strangle her. It is lucky Tina Nash didn't die that night but it's really unlucky she got blinded by this moron. I hope Tina all the best in the future and that it will make her stronger. I was shocked after reading about this and it was upsetting seeing the images. x”
