Appeal from mother of Jonathan Czunys, found injured outside Alverton Manor Hotel
THE mother of a Penryn man left for dead with potentially life-changing injuries has spoken of her family's nightmare.
Andrea Czunys, of Truro Lane, is appealing for anyone with information about what happened to her son Jonathan to come forward.
"It is a living nightmare," she said. "It is every parent's worst fear to have a policeman on your doorstep saying you have to go to hospital now."
The 26-year-old father was discovered outside The Alverton hotel, Truro, on March 3 with serious head injuries.

Fractured
He has a fractured skull, broken bone in his neck and back, fractured shoulder, broken ribs and a bruised lung.
He also has swelling on the brain and may need surgery for his shoulder and cheek.
"He took one heck of a knock," said Mrs Czunys. "We just don't know how long it will take (to recover) or how long he will have to be in hospital."
He spent four days in a coma at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Truro before being moved to critical care.
On Monday he was moved to a ward but is very confused, which has led to some aggression.
Medication and the swelling on his brain has also made communication difficult and he has some short-term memory loss.
"We don't know what we are going to find each day when we visit. It is heart-wrenching."
Mr Czunys works for Tramp Oils at Falmouth and has a five-year-old son, Jay, from a previous relationship.
Mrs Czunys said: "Jay has gone from seeing him every day to not at all and cannot understand why."
She and Mr Czunys' girlfriend of two years, Naomi Gill, have been by his bedside as much as possible.
Mr Czunys was out with friends in Truro before heading back to the hotel alone at 12.30am. He was discovered collapsed outside at 7am the following day by hotel staff.
Police said those hours remained unaccounted for.
Injuries
Mrs Czunys said: "We would appeal to anybody who may have seen anything, even if they saw him lying in the road that would give us a chance to narrow the timescale.
"We are keeping an open mind but the doctors said the injuries are consistent with being hit by a car.
"Someone must have done it or knows something. It is hard to believe someone left him for dead."

“If it is hit and run and the driver is caught he/she should be charged with attempted murder not the wishy washy charges the CPS come up with just because a vehicle was involved and not a weapon.”
