Pendennis Shipyard has celebrated the graduation of 14 young people from its four-year general apprenticeship scheme.
The Falmouth-based company's apprenticeship scheme is now in its fifteenth year and run in conjunction with Cornwall College.

Graduating apprentices have been awarded their 'Pendennis Blue' hard hats to signify their graduation to full-time employment at the Falmouth shipyard
The course provides industry qualifications and the opportunity for candidates to train to a high level in their chosen trade and then to progress through the company.
This year's final year graduates began the scheme in 2008. Four of them have also been shortlisted to take part in a week-long final appraisal for the annual Worshipful Company of Shipwrights Queens Silver Medal. The annual competition will see 18 representatives in total from the UK's shipbuilding industry attend the assessment course at Kielder Water, Northumberland, with the winner announced later this year.
