Arcade games and alcohol as Falmouth's 8-Bit bar gets license
CORNWALL’S first gaming bar 8-Bit has been given the go-ahead after finally being granted a license.
The new venue in the former Shades nightclub site on Quay Street in Falmouth will be open from 10am to 11pm every day and serve alcohol – table service only – from 12pm to 10:30pm.
It does not have an license to play music or host live music acts.
The business, which mixes arcade games with alcohol, is about to announce an open date this week.

The business said on its Twitter account this week that work will start on Monday.
“We finally got through the last of our legal issues. It's been a trial. Should be in the place by the end of the week, work starts Monday, then we can get an opening date.
Notices will be placed at all entrances and exits to and from the premises directing smokers not to congregate outside or smoke outside the premises.
One of the conditions asks the business to become an active member of the local pubwatch scheme.
The sub committee noted the applicant’s comments that they only intended to have a maximum of 40 customers at the premises.
