The Plymouth-based Architects Design Group has been appointed to design a £3 million extension to Duchy Hospital, Cornwall's only private hospital.

The project will see ADG's specialist healthcare team design a new operating theatre, cardiac catheterisation laboratory, recovery suite, day case unit, outpatient extension, conference room, dining room and kitchen at the hospital, at Treliske in Truro.

ADG was appointed following a tender process by Ramsay Health Care UK, which runs the hospital.

Work is due to be completed next August, and includes some off-site construction which ADG has used on previous health projects.
