Okehampton man arrested after boy driven away in car
A man in Cornwall who is suspected of stealing a car containing an eight-year-old boy, left inside while his mother went into a shop, has been released on bail.
The 29-year-old was arrested on Tuesday after a police pursuit led to a collision which injured one driver and left the man in hospital with serious spinal injuries.
The boy was released unharmed after the vehicle had covered just 100 yards, after it was taken from outside a Spar shop in Launceston.
Police said the man, from Okehampton, had been interviewed and then bailed until October 24.
