Arson attack probe as three people rescued from Liskeard fire
Arsonists are thought to have started a fire in the hallway of a block of flats in Cornwall in which three people had to be rescued. Dozens of firefighters were called to the blaze in Bodgara Flats, Liskeard, on Tuesday. Fire crews reassured two people trapped on the top floor and when the fire was extinguished and smoke cleared, they were led to safety. The pair, along with a passer-by who had entered the building to help, were suffering from smoke inhalation and were treated by paramedics. One of them was taken to hospital as a precaution.

“This is not arson it is attempted murder, if the premises are occupied, and the charge and sentence should reflect that.”
