Artist Paul hangs high over Eden,
A CORNISHMAN and his art are currently dangling from Eden's biomes to highlight environmental issues.
Paul McGowan's work is currently suspended in the Mediterranean biome after being inspired by the attraction's wealth of tropical plants and stunning structures.

Artist Paul McGowan descends from the roof of the Biome alongside his paintings from the exhibit Living on the Edge.
He marked the start of the year-long exhibition by descending from the biome roof alongside his pieces last week. He hopes it will remind people about the benefits of nature and the environment and teach them how to look after it. Each piece reflects the plight of an animal living on the edge whose existence is controlled and defined by mankind. As well as the suspended pieces wildlife paintings will be standing on easels around the biomes alongside abstract mask paintings, which are pieced together from anatomical elements of extinct or endangered animals.
Mr McGowan said: "The mask paintings are very sensitive in the way they portray our anguish. By painting the masks in a very minimal but aggressive manner, I was attempting to infuse the direct power of raw tribal art with a sense of contemporary graffiti. I want people to find their own way around and I want people to find something profound."

Mr McGowan was the youngest ever fashion designer to have sold a collection at London fashion house Brown's when he was 20. He has had several exhibitions in St Ives and also had pieces featured in London and New York.
Eden's creative director Peter Hampel said: "We intend to develop a new language at Eden, capable of engaging the public in an intuitive and personal way with new and established artists to spearhead a cultural shift in our collective response to the big challenges of the 21st century."
