There was standing room only for the most recent monthly property auction held by Miller and Son in Redruth, Cornwall.

The hottest property was a bungalow in the mid-Cornwall village of Troon, ripe for re-development or renovation. The house attracted 147 viewings, with offers over £50,000 invited. The winning bid was £120,000. "This property has huge potential and we knew it would attract enormous interest," said Gary Dome of Miller and Son.

Six acres close to Nancledra near St Ives sold at the auction for £36,000 off a guide of £25,000.

Rachel Semmens of Miller and Sons in St Ives said: "The land is totally overgrown and will need work but it is in a lovely, quiet, elevated spot." The next Miller and Son auction is on February 14.
