TENNIS: World number one Victoria Azarenka and number two Maria Sharapova went out of the Pan-Pacific Open in Tokyo yesterday. Azarenka pulled out with fatigue, giving Angelique Kerber free passage into the last four. Azarenka had her blood pressure checked during Wednesday's win over Roberta Vinci. Sharapova lost 4-6, 6-7 (10/12) to Samantha Stosur in the quarter-finals. In the semi-finals today, Stosur will play Nadia Petrova, who beat sixth seed Sara Errani 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.
