Beaten Plymouth glad to be back home
Plymouth Devils were beaten 54-39 in their Premier League match away to Scunthorpe Scorpions last Sunday.
Ben Barker and Ryan Fisher each managed a couple of race wins while skipper Cory Gathercole finished in double figures thanks to a six-point win on a tactical ride against Robin Aspegren and Michael Palm Toft in heat seven.
There was also an encouraging performance at reserve by recent signing Jake Anderson, who had a couple of second places in his return of five (paid six) points from five outings.
The Devils have now completed a sequence of five successive away matches and will welcome the opportunity of racing in a home fixture when they meet Glasgow Tigers at St Boniface Arena on Friday evening.

Last Friday, the Devils were beaten 52-41 in their trip to Somerset Rebels, who were without international riders Alex Davies and Jesper B Monberg.
Kyle Newman top-scored for the Rebels with 14+2 from six rides and he was ably assisted by captain Jason Doyle, who scored 13+1 from five.
Plymouth huffed and puffed, but never really threatened the Rebels. Ryan Fisher's 15+1 from five rides was their highlight, with Barker the next-best scorer with nine from five rides.

Plymouth: Ben Barker 9 (5), Todd Kurtz 4+1 (4), Cory Gathercole 7 (4), James Holder 4+2 (4), Ryan Fisher 15+1 (5), Jake Anderson 2 (5), Ben Reade 0 (3).
The Rebels have been hit with the news that Jason Doyle suffered a suspected broken jaw while riding in Poland at the weekend which, if confirmed, would see him out of action as they head into the Premier League play-offs.
Doyle is due to have an X-ray which will reveal the full extent of the injury, and the time span, if any, he might expect to be out of action as a consequence.
Plymouth's Jake Anderson proved a success on his home debut in last Saturday's Westernapolis individual meeting at St Boniface Arena.
He won his four heats to tie with Todd Kurtz as top scorer with 12 points from the qualifying races.
The 22-year-old Australian then booked his place in the final by finishing second to Dudley's Dan Greenwood in the semi-final, and rounded off the evening by finishing third behind his new Plymouth team-mates Kurtz and James Holder in the final.
