The British coastline offers some of the most dramatic views in the UK as well as miles of beaches. It’s easy to forget we’re an island mainly due to the majority of us living inland and the great British weather doesn’t help. If you are not new to braving the UK’s ocean temperatures then you’ll probably know to look for swimwear for women from Swimwear365 and get a good wetsuit from a reputable diving shop.

The following list will help you find five of the best beaches we’ve got here in the UK. These are just some examples of fantastic places to visit for a weekend of inspiring walks or to just digest more about the wonderful British coastline.

A vast expanse of sand and dunes emanate from this beach allowing for solitude when at its peak of yearly visitors. At low tide rocks and caves are accessible and great for stimulating younger minds with the wealth of sea life. The River Gannel runs down one side of the beach creating a perfect pool for paddling with the kids.

Fistral Bay, Newquay

Cornwall does offer some of the best beaches and Fistral Bay is great for the surfers out there. There are surfing events throughout the years, including the Rip Curl Boardmasters Festival and the UK Pro Surf Tour. And you don’t have to worry if you’re no professional as there are plenty of surf boards for hire for the novice and great lessons to book.

Blackpool Beach, Blackpool

Blackpool has it all and has long been seen as the archetypal ‘seaside’ promenade, with donkey rides a plenty and a plethora of UK and national tourists. The kids adore Blackpool running and screaming with joy at the endless beach and time consuming slot machines (plus the rollercoasters with a host of promenade attractions).

Brighton Beach, Brighton

Graced with a famous pebble beach and some of the best sunshine hours the UK has to offer thanks to its South East location. When the sun does go down you are simply spoilt for choice from the volume of tea shops, vintage markets and art galleries.

Saltburn, Middlesbrough

A unique beach due to the cable car lifts and lemon topped ice-cream. Saltburn is blessed with a grand wooden pier and a dramatic cliff top offering breathtaking views. It offers the perfect beach to stroll along for anyone wanting to blow away the cobwebs.

So what are you waiting for? We’re not basking in Caribbean temperatures but we are surrounded by a diverse coastal landscape, it’s a crime to not want to go and explore it.
