A BENCH for bus users is to be provided by Cornwall Council and paid for by St Austell Town Council, but sited on a supermarket's land.

The county and town authorities have teamed up with Tesco at St Austell to respond to a resident's request to make a stand over a lack of seating provision at the bus stop.

On Monday the three parties met and Tesco agreed to provide the land for the bench beside the bus stop in Holmbush Road.

St Austell Town Council has agreed to provide more than £250 to pay for the bench, which will be installed by Cornwall Council's highways team.
