A DREAM WEDDING can be had for as little as a few hundred pounds in a charity auction which ends in four days' time.

So far not one bid has been submitted for the auction.

Sarah Gillett, of Perfect Preparation, who set up the auction in aid of the Ella's Memory charity, said she has been disappointed by the response so far and is encouraging couples to take part, no matter how small their bid maybe.

The charity wants to overhaul the Daisy Suite at the Royal Cornwall Hospital which is used by parents who have lost a baby.

Launched on November 25, couples have until December 13 to make a bid for the wedding package, which includes a wedding cake, photographer, car and hairdresser for the bride and groom, even if they are only interested in taking up part of the offer.

"We know there are several people intending to bid but we don't want people missing out," said Mrs Gillett.

"I am hoping that the bad weather and delays in post have caused us to receive nothing as yet.

"There has been tremendous interest with more than 1,000 hits on the website, which is fantastic."

Martyn and Emmillee Selley, who launched Ella's Memory after losing their newborn child last year, are hoping their auction will help a local couple have a magical wedding day.

"Couples can bid any amount that they can afford, no amount will be rejected, we just ask that the couple write a brief statement as to why this package would help them for us to determine which bid will win the auction prizes.

"We want to raise money and awareness for Ella's Memory, while promoting the support from a number of local businesses and to help a Cornish couple have a wedding day that costs a fraction of what it would normally cost," added Mrs Gillett. Full details of the prizes on offer and how to bid can be found on the website www.perfect-preparation.co.uk or by going on the thisiscornwall website and clicking on the Ella's Memory logo.
