Former Blazey pair reunited at Newquay
FORMER St Blazey midfielder Mark Vercesi has joined former Green & Blacks' boss Glynn Hooper at Newquay, writes Lee Hall.
Following talks with Vercesi, Newquay confirmed the signing of the goalscoring midfielder on Tuesday, meaning he will make his debut in tomorrow's premier division clash with Elburton Villa at Mount Wise (3pm).
Hooper has also submitted approaches for Tavistock's Matt David and Torpoint's Shane White. However, the latter informed Newquay on Tuesday evening that he will be remaining at Torpoint.
Hooper has been desperate to strengthen his squad, which has constantly been disrupted by injuries and the unavailability of key players for much of the campaign.

Vercesi is arguably the Peninsula League's most prolific midfielder, having netted more than 20 goals for Falmouth last season.
And having played with him at Truro City, Penzance and St Blazey, Hooper knows exactly what he's getting.
He said: "I think he wants a new challenge after everything that has gone on at Falmouth and he will be a fantastic addition to our squad."
St Blazey, meanwhile, who drew 1-1 at Liverton United on Saturday (match report page 106), return to Blaise Park this weekend for the visit of Plymouth Parkway.
The Green & Blacks have failed to win in their last three league games, and they will hope to end that run against a Parkway side that has lost two of their last three league games.
