Blinded Hayle woman Tina Nash attends Penzance fundraiser
A Hayle woman who was blinded in an horrific attack by her boyfriend has attended a fundraising night held in her honour for the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).
Tina Nash joined friends at Sportcue bar in Penzance on Friday, where hundreds of pounds were raised through an auction with dozens of prizes donated by local businesses.
The money will go towards the Run For Tina Nash fund, which will see friends Gary Williams, Dylan Courtney, Sam Oxley and Stefan Osborne, from Penzance, run the London Marathon next year.
The four decided to set themselves a fundraising challenge after 32-year-old Tina had her eyes gouged out by Shane Jenkin in April last year. Jenkin was later jailed for life after he pleaded guilty to causing her grievous bodily harm.
