Bloodbike charity backed by college
BODMIN College students have teamed up with "bloodbike'' charity Cornwall Freewheelers to produce advertising and promotional material for the lifesaving courier service.
It was part of the students' course work for GCSE and A-level examinations, and the collaboration was the brainchild of college lecturers Rebecca Stott and Mark Talbot who saw the advantages of working with an external organisation to inject elements of "real world" business practices into the student projects.
Student Lee Nottle produced a documentary DVD outlining the charity's work.
He said: "It has been a great experience working for a real client.

"The volunteer riders at Freewheelers work really hard and provide a vital but completely free out-of-hours delivery service of blood, drugs, breast milk and other medical requirements to the NHS throughout Cornwall and I hope my documentary reflects this.''
The DVD has already been shown at Bodmin Community Cinema, and community cinemas at Bude, Looe and Lostwithiel have also expressed an interest in showing it.
Year 11's Amy Gerry and Jak Rowse took on the task of creating posters and leaflets to bolster the charity's fundraising events.
Cornwall Freewheeler David Enderson said the charity was very impressed by the standard of work produced by the students, and their professional approach.
"Their documentary and printed material have already received very positive feedback from members of the public and volunteers at Freewheelers, and further joint projects are now planned for the future,'' said Mr Enderson.
