Bodmin extend unbeaten run but St Blazey rally
Bodmin Town 4 St Blazey 2
Bodmin extended their unbeaten run in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League to 12 games with victory over St Blazey at Priory Park on Wednesday evening.
But there was nothing straightforward about these three points as Blazey recovered from being 4-0 down to push the champions all the way.
Bodmin looked unstoppable in the opening half, with former Blazey striker Seb Broomfield marking his home debut with a second minute goal after good work by Sam Matthews and Chris Wright.

Right back Jack Podmore made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute, Broomfield set up Wright for the third on the half hour, and Lee Doel made it 4-0 in the 42nd minute from Wright’s inch perfect pass from the left flank.
St Blazey had been overwhelmed at times but incredibly they were back in the game before half-time.
Danny Zalick finished off from close range after Bodmin keeper Kevin Miller tipped away a Tornado Bello shot and in the second minute of stoppage time George Swain reduced the arrears to 4-2.
Blazey, clearly buoyed by the two goals, were on the front foot in the second half and George Swain, who rejected a move to Bodmin on Tuesday to rejoin Blazey from Truro, should have scored the visitors’ third goal in the 63rd minute.
He found himself in the clear in the Bodmin half and advanced to the edge of the penalty area where he produced a low shot which Miller managed to keep out, gathering the ball at the second attempt.
Substitute Martin Sleeman also blasted a 25 yard shot just over as Blazey continued to threaten a third goal, but it never arrived.
Bodmin, so irresistible in the first half, failed to force Blazey keeper Dave Painter into one save during the second 45 minutes.
