NEWLY promoted Newquay have swooped to sign two of Liskeard Athletic's best player as the exodus from Lux Park continues.

The Peppermints, who will be in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League premier division competing with the Blues next season, have signed talented left back Shane Jewell.

And the much-travelled striker Danny Zalick, who finished last season with Liskeard after spells with Saltash United and St Blazey, has also made the switch to Mount Wise.

Newquay, managed by former Liskeard striker Glynn Hooper, are ambitious to make an impact in the Peninsula League's top division.

Bodmin Town are protecting their pitch by playing five of their six pre-season games away from Priory Park.

The only match which will be staged at home is a money-spinning clash against Neil Warnock's Championship side Leeds, on Wednesday July 25 (7pm kick-off).

Bodmin launch their pre-season at Millbrook on Saturday July 21.
