Bomb scare sparked by lit firework in a takeaway
PENZANCE high street was closed on Saturday after a bomb scare.
Police were called to Market Jew Street at around 9.10pm after reports that a suspicious device had been placed in a shop.
The road was cordoned off as officers investigated.
But it quickly became apparent that the device was a lit firework that had been thrown into Rami's takeaway.

No one was believed to have been injured in the incident and no one has yet to be arrested.
The street was reopened by 9.40pm.
Police have launched an investigation and are currently viewing CCTV footage taken from the area at the time of the incident.
