TREVOSE managing director Nick Gammon has announced the launch of a book entitled 'Trevose Golf & Country Club – A Golfing Gem on the North Cornwall Coast'.

Written by member Ray Ramm, with a foreword by golfing legend Peter Alliss, the book traces the club's history from the early 1920's to the end of December 2011 over 275 pages.

It cleverly displays 62 archive pictures from the Trevose library together with 126 modern pictures in 12 chapters embedded within some 90,000 words, in addition to schedules of club captains, ladies' section captains and trophy winners over the years.

Collectively, it will give the reader a fascinating insight into how the original owner engaged the services of the world's most famous golf course architect, Harry S. Colt, to produce a championship links golf course which today ranks within the top echelon of golf courses in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Mr Gammon said: "The board requested a book of high quality which would reflect the aim we seek to achieve in all departments of the club's business.

"Ray has given us this in a beautifully produced, comprehensive volume of which we can all be proud.

"My thanks go to him and to the people or organisations that co-operated with him"
