Boots in Truro to offer free therapy for depression and anxiety
Therapy for people with depression and anxiety will soon be available on the high street in Truro.
The new talking therapy service – called BeMe - is being launched in Cornwall in Boots on Pydar Street.
Health experts hope locating the service in Boots will encourage more people to come and seek help.
The service is free and funded by the NHS. It is hoped similar schemes will be rolled out across Cornwall over the next six months.

Neill Richardson, BeMe's clinical lead, said: "We can all feel low, worried, fearful or distressed. This can be caused by a life event like bereavement, divorce or unemployment; a health issue or coping with a traumatic event, BeMe can help you deal with these.
"Delivering the service from a high street location in major towns will bring our services closer to where people work and live, and will improve access to services through closer proximity to public transport routes."
John Varnish, healthcare development manager at Boots UK said: "Our customers come to us for information and advice on how they can make positive changes to their health. Access to a BeMe clinic within a Boots UK store ensures easy access to mental health services and allows them to manage all their health needs together."
BeMe offers a range of talking therapies to anyone over the age of 16 who is experiencing anxiety and depression. The service will be available at the Truro store every Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 1pm.
