Bought illegal CS spray on internet
AN ARGUMENT with his partner led a 37-year-old man to spray him with an illegal CS spray, Truro magistrates heard.
It took place in a caravan at Chacewater, with a canister Mark Thomas had bought from France on the internet, not realising it was illegal to possess it in this country.
Thomas, formerly of Agar Road, Illogan Highway, and now living in Croydon, admitted at Truro Magistrates' Court to possessing an illegal weapon on July 22.
Gail Hawkley, for the CPS, said police were called to the caravan when it was reported that there was a domestic incident taking place.

When they arrived they seized the CS canister from Thomas who explained there had been a scuffle with his boyfriend and he had sprayed him with it for one second as the partner had a baton and was going to come at him with it.
He knew the can would be legal in Europe but was not sure about this country.
Deborah Von Kohler, his solicitor, said he had been in a volatile relationship with his partner, alleging that in the past he had received injuries, and had bought the item to defend himself.
He regretted what he had done.
Thomas was given a conditional discharge and told to pay £100 costs and surcharge.
