Boy, 11, critical after Audi collision
AN 11-YEAR-OLD boy was in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Hayle.
Caleb Hollow, who lives in the town, was believed to have suffered serious head injuries when he was in a collision with a silver Audi A2.
The popular Arsenal supporter was airlifted to Royal Cornwall Hospital before being transferred to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.
His classmates at Bodriggy Academy have sent special 'get well soon' cards to his bedside.

"Our thoughts are with Caleb and his family at this time," said head teacher David May. "He is a lovely little boy.
"His class have made two large get well cards with every child writing a message. They have also recorded messages on to a CD for him."
The Year 6 pupil is a member of the school football and cross-country teams and performs with the choir.
"He has a beautiful singing voice," said Mr May.
"He is a small little chap for a Year 6 but ever so popular and friendly, always happy. I have never known him to fall out with another child."
All 160 junior school children were told what had happened in an assembly and the academy wrote to parents about it.
"The whole school is thinking of them," said Mr May.
"Our prayers are with Caleb and the family."
Police are investigating the collision, which happened at about 8.40am on Friday at the Loggans Road junction with Loggans Way. No one was arrested in connection with the incident.
Witnesses contacted the emergency services and it was believed an off-duty nurse stayed with Caleb until ambulance crews arrived.
Officers from the serious collisions investigation unit at Camborne also attended.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact them on 101 quoting log 142 of 7/12/12.
