Brawl breaks out at birthday party
A DISTURBANCE reportedly involving dozens of people broke out at an 18th birthday bash on Friday.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at Roche Football Club, in Trezaise Road, at about 11.30pm.
"It was a very large fight and somebody said they thought it was up to 80 people involved. It was significant and required police resources from Newquay, Bodmin and St Austell," said Sergeant Ed Gard.
"There were some quite nasty injuries and some people were taken to hospital."

He added that there was a lot of damage caused to the club.
Football club secretary Matthew Lean said the event on Friday night was a private 18th birthday party.
"It was a private function so the only people allowed in would have been at the discretion of those whose function it was," he said.
Roche Cornwall councillor John Wood said: "I understand from the club secretary it was one window, which was repaired on Saturday, and the club is functioning as normal.
"It was a private party with many 'out of village' youths who had been invited."
He added: "Roche is and remains a safe place to live and to walk at night."
Anyone with information can call PC 6933 Ben Morris on 101, quoting crime reference GA/12/2723.
A 22-year-old male was arrested in relation to the incident and has been released on police bail.

“No doubt some of these misfits will be going to university and governing the country in 40 years time. God help us. While the club accepted the booking and certainly has insurance those responsible should pay towards the damage and learn a bit of common sense in the meantime. Up to 80 people involved and only one arrested? As it was a private party the names of those involved are known and should be published to shame the idiots.”
