Bude romp to victory
BUDE Pilot Gig Club won the men's veterans' plate at the Mixed and Veterans Pilot Gig Rowing Championships.
The Championships took place on the River Tamar, Saltash at the Caradon Pilot Gig Club, with crews from all over the South West taking part.

The weather on Saturday was not conducive to happy rowing but Bude's Mixed team fought valiantly against wind, rain and tide and took third place in the quarter finals.
Sunday's weather was much more clement and two crews of Vets arrived at Saltash from Bude to take part in the Championships.

The Ladies Vets had a good race, coming third in the first and second heats but passed the glory this time to Bude Mens Vets team.
After a hard fought battle in the first round where the first three gigs home went onto the semi-final, Bude Men Vets convincingly won the next two heats and romped past the finish line in first place.
