Building wows art and design students
STUDENTS entered the new art and design building at Truro College as they began the academic year, enjoying the accommodation and facilities in the White Building, completed earlier this month.
David Walrond, principal of Truro and Penwith College commented: "We knew it was a very exciting design, and the finished White Building is every bit as stunning an environment in reality as we had hoped and planned.
"The reactions of new art and design students as they enter it for the first time really say it all.
"It gives them and their staff great new spaces and outstanding specialist facilities to work in.

"A very busy summer extending our science areas and laboratories into the space freed up by the new art facilities has also allowed us to welcome a record number of science A level, IB and vocational students joining us from across Cornwall this term."
The new art construction has large teaching studio spaces with double aspect windows, an atrium on the ground floor, ceramics and kiln rooms, textiles, graphics and photography dark rooms, mac suites, display spaces and a large gallery space.
