'Bullying' links on tragic teenager's tribute page
A Devon schoolgirl who was found dead at her home may have been the victim of bullying, it has emerged.
The teenager, named locally as Izzy Dix, was discovered by her mother at their Brixham home on Tuesday night.
Several messages posted by friends of the 14-year-old on a Facebook page set up in her memory, suggested she had been harassed, with references to bullying.
One of the remarks posted said: "Breaks my heart that someone so young and so beautiful was made to feel so bad about herself sleep well little star x"
Another read: "RIP izzy. Thoughts and prayers with your family and friends at this tragic time. Something must be done to stamp out bullying and support our beautiful young children before another tragedy occurs." Other people described her as "beautiful and funny", and that she had "touched so many hearts".
She wrote on her own Facebook last month: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
Inspector Adrian Leisk said: "We have spoken to her mother who is understandably devastated and we are working closely with the school and other partners to try and understand what has lead to this tragic outcome."
Staff and pupils at her school, Brixham Community College, have been offered counselling.
