A bus driver was kept in hospital overnight and had a knife removed from his leg after being stabbed in East Devon. The man, in his 50s, was attacked while taking a break by a man in his 20s in Budleigh Salterton. Police said the driver "heard a noise" from the back of the bus at around 8.20pm in South Farm Road. He was then assaulted by an attacker described as slim to medium build, with dark shoulder-length hair and wearing an olive green parka jacket, who then ran off. The driver was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital suffering a deep wound to the thigh.
