Business park's revamp brings in the new tenants
A BUSINESS park which underwent a £1 million revamp has seen most of its units filled– despite Cornwall having the country's second weakest economy.
Eight of the 12 units at Dainton's St Austell Bay Business Park have already been filled with tenants since the completion of the new industrial units just over a year ago.
The five-acre park, which has units in sizes between 1,250sq ft to 2,000sq ft, was designed, with input from Cornwall Council, to make sure it was affordable for small businesses and met their needs.
Dainton's operations director Shaun Duncan said: "We were conscious at the time of the economic climate in Cornwall so we canvassed local businesses to ascertain what level of rent would be affordable. We then worked back from there to calculate our budget for the build. The result was high quality, affordable units."

Tony Lewis, managing director of JW Lewis & Sons Roofing, said a combination of location and cost prompted it to relocate.
"Being relatively new, the units are of a good quality, much better than the other sites we considered moving to. The low rates make it affordable and the discount we were offered at the start of the tenancy really helped with the move."
