CORNWALL GLASS & GLAZING CELEBRATE NATIONAL AWARD NOMINATION

A Cornish

family owned company which began life over 30 years ago in its founder's

kitchen is celebrating being selected as a finalist for the highest national

award in its industry.  Cornwall Glass

& Glazing have been shortlisted as one of four finalists in the running for

this years' coveted G12 National Glass Company of the Year Award.

The business has grown hugely from its humble beginnings when David &

Heather Mitchell set up the business from home in the 1970's, where in the

early days the weighing out glazing putty was a regular occurrence in their

kitchen.  Over the subsequent thirty plus

years Cornwall Glass & Glazing, which the business is now known, has grown

into a major manufacturer of double and triple glazed sealed units, toughened

glass and supplier of a huge range of other glass, mirror and glazing

products.  The company currently operates

14 sites across the South West including Truro, Newquay, Penryn, Redruth and

Rays Glass Centre's locally.  With a

compliment of close to 200 staff and annual turnover in excess of £10million

the business has continued to grow year on year, even during the current economic

challenges.

Mark Mitchell will lead a delegation of representatives from Cornwall Glass

& Glazing when they attend the G12 Glass Industry Awards, hosted by

comedian and television presenter Patrick Kielty, which will be held at London

at the end of November.
