Calvin, who started making music on an Amiga computer while working as a shelf-stacker at Marks & Spencer in Dumfries, will play at the home of the iconic biomes on Saturday, July 3.

Calvin's two solo albums –

I Created Disco

and the UK number one

Ready for the Weekend

– have featured the singles

Acceptable in the 80s, The Girls

, chart-topper

I'm Not Alone

as well as the title track from his second record.

Complementing this, Calvin has successfully worked on a number of high-profile collaborations, including

e with Brit-winning Dizzee Rascal, a song that was named Best Dancefloor Filler at last year's NME Awards. Calvin was also nominated in the British Male Solo Artist category at this year's Brits.

He produced the Kylie Minogue single

In My Arms

as well as another track from her

Jack Johnson (June 26 – sold out), Mika (June 27) and Doves and Mumford & Sons (July 2) are already confirmed as headline artists for this year's Sessions. Further announcements on the line-up will be made in due course.

The Sessions are famed not only for bringing top acts to Cornwall but also for their festival feel, with extra bands and entertainers playing around the site in the run-up to the main event. Massage and alternative therapies will also be showcased around Eden on the day of each Session.

Tickets for the Calvin Harris Session go on general release at 6pm on Tuesday. They are priced at £35 plus booking fee.
