The cancer charity for children and young people said the store is in desperate need of more donations following the disruption caused by the recent cold weather.

Clair Jones, stock collection coordinator, said: "We have found in the past that icy pavements  and difficult driving conditions tend to deter people from driving to drop off stock and walking with donations can be quite a job if you have a substantial amount to give."

The campaign, which is being rolled out throughout February, is encouraging all local people to dig deep to donate all their old and new unwanted items to the charity's shop, situated at Trelowarren Street.

Ms Jones added: "Ten bags of donated clothing could pay for a wheelchair for use in one of our Homes from Home, so children who are weak can spend time with their family while they're having treatment in hospital.

"Therefore, I would encourage everyone living in Camborne and the surrounding area to give charitably and help us improve the lives of young cancer patients."
