Camborne and Redruth celebrate New Year's Eve peacefully
POLICE in Camborne have thanked the public and publicans for a peaceful New Year's Eve.
There were no alcohol related crimes in Camborne while in Redruth just one man was arrested for an assault.

Neighbourhood sergeant Marc Griffin at Camborne police station said this was thanks to increased high visibility patrols and established partnership work in the town.
He said: "We had staff at pubs serving alcohol sensibly and increasingly people are becoming more aware of their social responsibilities when they are out.

Nearly 100 people were arrested in Devon and Cornwall during the New Year's Eve celebrations.
The force said the 97 arrests were all for alcohol-related offences, which is about 50 per cent down on the figure for last year.

“Strange.... Article dated a few days later "Arrest over alleged New Year's Eve assault at Camborne" in the text of the article it says that a male suffered serious injury as a result of an assault in Wesley Street Camborne. Which one is right?
