Camborne Royal British Legion's record breaking fundraiser for the Poppy Appeal
A RECORD breaking £15,000 was raised in Camborne this year for the Poppy Appeal.
The magnificent total was celebrated on Friday as members of the Royal British Legion Camborne branch got together.

Chairman Vincent Young said: "This year's appeal has proved to be a great success exceeding last year's collection total.
"This is a true testament to everyone involved in raising the much needed funds to help the work of the Royal British Legion, which hopes to reach its target of £42 million this year."

The evening was also the first major social event held by the branch at Holman's Social Club.
Almost one hundred people attended and enjoyed music, a comedian, pasty supper, a raffle and prize draw with a total of 34 prizes kindly donated by local businesses, branch members and friends.
The Camborne branch was also given the John Ross Cup in recognition of their efforts and progress made throughout 2011 and the County Chairman's Cup in recognition of their sterling efforts, enthusiasm and determination to further the aims of the Royal British Legion within their local area in 2011.
