Candlesticks snatched in raid on church
Thieves raided a church in Plymouth leaving a trail of destruction. St Francis Church on Little Dock Lane, Honicknowle was targeted on Thursday between 5.45am and 7.45pm. A window was smashed and eight brass and silver candlesticks were snatched with cash from donation boxes. During the burglary, candles and religious artefacts were strewn across the chapel and altar. Police are appealing for information and in particular are asking local second-hand shops, antique dealers and scrap metal businesses to contact them if they are offered the candle holders.
