Car crash woman, 81, who died is named
An elderly woman who died in an accident in Cornwall has been named. Alma Batty, 81 and from Epping in Essex, was involved in a collision on the A30, to the west of Loggans Moor on the Hayle Bypass, at around 2.10pm on Friday. She was driving a Vauxhall Astra when it was involved in an accident with a Ford Mondeo estate. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The front seat passenger of the Astra, 80, also from outside of the county, was airlifted to Derriford hospital with serious injuries. Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101, quoting reference 0427 of 310812.
