A TRURO motor finance company has joined forces with one of the world's major banks.

Ignition Credit has set up a joint trading relationship with Fortis Bank, which is owned by BNP Paribas – Europe's largest bank by deposits and recently judged one of the six most financially solid banks in the world – to secure new funding options.

Sales director Paul Caunter said: "This is going to enable us to provide our customers with the best of both worlds.

"The link with Fortis gives us access to a whole host of new finance options while our customers will still get a personal service from a local firm they know and trust."

Ignition Credit provides motor finance to businesses and private individuals through the South West.

Mr Caunter added: "If we can help car dealers to stock more cars through dealer funding and increase their range, then hopefully they will be able to sell more cars and that can only be good news for the industry as a whole."

Ignition Credit is the motor finance section of the finance house Sterling Capital, based at Threemilestone.
