Care company starts new training facility
TRELAWNEY Domiciliary Care, based at Treswithian, near Camborne, has opened new conference/training facilities.
The company, which was set up in 2000, provides care and support to clients in their own homes.
Managing director Tish Berriman said: "Up until now, many care sector training venues have been community rooms and similar, which are not always conducive to a positive learning environment.
"Trelawney Domiciliary Care has identified this need, mainly through trying to access suitable training venues within an affordable budget itself, and decided that the care sector needed better facilities that could be accessed."

The new facilities include interactive white board technology, and a people-moving and handling training room, which has furniture and lifting equipment that care staff would come across during their daily visits.
Mrs Berriman added: "It is important also to recognise that by investing in these facilities in these difficult economic times – and with changes occurring within the care sector – Trelawney Domiciliary Care is showing it has commitment to the future of the care sector as well as the committed workforce that cares for the most vulnerable people in our community, and that this investment will ultimately feed back to clients in the community through the care that they receive."
The facilities are available for hire by care training providers or for individual or groups of care sector organisations to hire for joint training.
The training/conference room is also available to be hired by other companies.
The facilities were officially opened last Monday by the Mayor of Camborne, Jean Charman.
